The Grades are Changing

The new maple grading system categorizes the different maple syrup grades based on color and flavor. But no worries, your favorite syrups and still available to tickle your taste buds. The following are descriptions of the new grades:
  • Grade A Golden Delicate Taste is the lightest color of the new grades with the least amount of maple flavor. It is best used as a topping on ice cream and delicate desserts and as a light glaze on salmon and other fish.
  • Grade A Amber Rich Taste is darker in color than Golden Delicate and richer in maple flavor. It is best used as a topping on pancakes and waffles. Amber Rich is the grade that can be used with anything, such as in your coffee, tea, smoothie, yogurt, oatmeal and in anything elsewhere a natural sweetener is desired.
  • Grade A Dark Robust Taste is the darkest in color of all the grades and has the strongest maple flavor. It is best used in cooking and baking but also pairs well with pancakes and waffles.
  • Grade A Very Dark Strong Taste is not recommended for table use or direct consumption, but best used as an ingredient.
